Chollas Lake Project Festival To Celebrate Community Unity
August 27th College Grove wellness fair is free and open to the public
(San Diego)—The Chollas Lake Project is a fun-filled, interactive festival for
all ages that will promote wellness, embrace diversity through the arts, and
encourage environmental awareness and community unity.
The event, which is freeand open to the public, will take place on
Saturday, August 27th, from 10:00a.m.
to 4:00p.m., at the Chollas Lake Mesa Amphitheater in the
College Grove area of
San Diego (6350 College Grove Dr, San Diego, CA 92115).
In the wake of so many conflict-ridden headlines, the Chollas Lake Project will
bring together a diverse group of local artists, vendors, and community members
to create an atmosphere that celebrates community peace and the area’s natural
beauty. Highlights of the event include a kids entertainment area, collaborative
art projects, delicious food truck fare, and wellness information from local
nonprofits and festival partners.
In 1901, Chollas Lake was a valuable water resource for the City of San Diego.
Over a century later, Chollas Lake Park is a favorite site of recreation and
entertainment for approximately 20,000 visitors every month. Nestled into a
quiet canyon in College Grove, the park boasts walking trails, fishing lakes,
bird walks and, to the surprise of many, an open-air amphitheater over-looking
the city of San Diego.
For questions about the Chollas Lake Project, contact April Mahoney, festival
organizer and longtime College Grove resident, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
